ARTWRK040 - Titled "Loon Family"
The Story of the Drawing:
Loons are rather mystic creatures to me, they are such a unique species and the sound they make is like no other. They can be fragile creatures at times, but wondeful and loving parents to their young. They are beloved in the area I live and they can be found on many different ponds in New Hampshire.
I based this art piece on a family of loons I have been following for a few years, not far from where I live. I try very hard not to get too close and disturb them during their normal daily routine, I also feel that by keeping my distance I tend to more natural behavior.
I referenced this art piece from several different photos I had taken over a period of a year. I wanted to include most of the typical elements people remember most fondly about loons and how they live.
It was created on a computer using digital painting techniques and tools. The main items being Adobe Photoshop, Corel Painter and Wacom drawing tablet.
