
Here is a brief list of the software we like to use, note, it is not all inclusive.
I use Corel Painter in conjuction with a Wacom Intuos 4 Tablet for all my artwork related works. It took a while to figure out a workflow with Corel Painter, but once I did, I haven't really looked back. Corel Painter is essentially a painting and drawing program with some very realistic and powerful features. It is virtually the same as painting or drawing but all done digitally. Combined with a Wacom tablet that uses digital pens and brushes with 2000 plus levels of sensitivity the possibilities are endless.
We use photoshop to process all our RAW files and size them and prep them for printing. Photoshop is pricey, but it is an essential tool for all serious photographers. I have tried many HDR processing software but find Photomatix to produce results I like and find pleasing. At times I do find it can introduce more noise into an image after processing than I like. It is simple to use, very powerful and you can go from very realistic to fully pushed HDR images.
I haven't had time to learn Lightroom yet, we bought it to help us in the sorting, quick prepping and processing while on the road. It has a lot of power in a small package and no where near as expensive as Photoshop. More to come ..
