This product starts with a custom made wooden frame, reddish stain with black highlights on the ridges. We get many compliments on this frame, it really is a quality product and really enhances the final product.
We then have a couple of double mat combos but my favorite is a combo of two grays. A really dark gray (almost black) called 'after dark' and a fairly light gray mat inner called "before dark" these are premium quality acid free mats from the Crescent mat range. They are custom cut to amximize the size of the image to fit withing the 16x20" frame opening.
The requested photo is the printed on very high quality and expensive Moad Entrada 300gsm paper which also recieves a special coating treatment by us to protect and enhance the print quality.
This is then mounted on pre-glued dry mount foam board. This is a permanent mounting technique, it is mainly done this way to combat the high humidity of New England and prevent warping of the paper.
We cover all this with Tru Vue Museum glass - this is an almost invisible glass with very high protective ratings, see the glass section in the "printers and media" section of the web site.
Finally it is all mounted in the frame, the artwork is signed, the back is sealed and hanging wires attached.
We believe this is a high quality product for a very reasonable price.
